The International Marine Protected Areas Congress (IMPAC) is the meeting place for the global community of marine protected area (MPA) managers and their scientific and institutional partners. Held every 4 years since 2005, IMPAC is the main forum for capitalising on and sharing best practice in marine ecosystem conservation.
Senegal and Africa wish to make IMPAC6 a key event in accelerating the commitment of the countries of the inter-tropical belt to this process, by highlighting the positive effects of regional collaboration. To this end, IMPAC6 will seek to encourage greater participation from countries in the South than in previous editions, and will focus the debates on unifying themes.
